An old familiar story that my grandchildren love to hear, with interesting pictures and some singsong repetitive phrases that they love to mimic. Of course, the story has a good message for everyone to pitch in when there is work to be done.

The story's the same, but there's something about a chicken wearing rain boots The Little Red Hen that is funny even for the grown up reading the book. Not funny enough? There are the card playing "Not I" animals who also sun themselves in the farm yard, and watch "Hairy Trotter." This is an all time favorite and requested often when my classes get free read days. This is one that shouldn't have been allowed to go out of print. Enjoy!
